On Episode 16 of Concussion Talk Podcast, I will be talking with Moira Merrithew, of Merrithew, mind-body education and equipment (of which STOTT PILATES is a brand) about post-rehab Pilates, knowing and understanding one’s body, and how being mindful is important for efficient movement.
Pilates is a type of exercise that my sister encouraged me to try after my brain injury and rehab. I began doing Pilates in 2012 (almost nine years after my injury) and I’ve found it to be incredible! Since I started, I’ve noticed improvements in my balance, my strength, my overall efficiency of movement, my confidence when I walk and swim, and my energy level.
Pilates, yoga, and exercises that encourage mindful movement have been very important for me.
