My guest for episode 15 of Concussion Talk Podcast is Kristine Miller, PhD and PT (physiotherapist), researcher, and Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Kristine Miller was one of the authors of, “Feasibility and results of a case study of yoga to improve physical functioning in people with chronic traumatic brain injury” a case study and article in the Journal of Disability and Rehabilitation.
The participants in the case study showed marked improvements in balance, balance confidence, lower extremity strength, and endurance. I talk to Kristine about the case study, brain injury and rehabilitation, and why she thinks yoga is so beneficial.
Please read the post from Tuesday about Brain Injury Month in Canada and about a brain injury awareness campaign with Yoga, Pilates, and other mindful practices!
