I was severely brain injured in 2003 while cycling in Victoria, B.C. In a two-week induced coma and in hospital, including in patient rehab for months. I still have double vision and difficulty with my balance. I owe so much to my physiotherapists who helped me to walk and have been such a positive influence on my life. Also, swimming, walking and yoga (and pilates) and importantly, time, have meant continuous improvement.
I started Concussion Talk blog in 2010, wrote an e-book, Detour: Cycling, coma, and living with a brain injury, in 2014, and started Concussion Talk Podcast in 2015. I created, hosted and produced 164 episodes of Concussion Talk Podcast, put out many other podcasts beside.
I now co-host and produce Chronically with Lauren & Nick and produce Concussion in Women podcast.
